DYEING THE SILK

The factory manager knew perfect English and explained the process clearly. Natural dyes obtained from roots and herbs are gathered by nomads in the countryside. The silk threads are boiled in huge copper vats during the dyeing process. This factory produces both silk and wool carpets. In the picture, the strands hanging on the wall are dyed wools of different colors.
